Introduction

Polyetherketone (PAEK) polymers offer a range of melt stable high temperature thermoplastics. These can generally be melt-spun and drawn into a range of semi-crystalline fibre products, which are  exceptionally thermally and dimensionally stable.

Fibre Properties

Zyex monofilaments, multifilaments and staple fibres are produced on specialist high temperature extrusion equipment.  The degree of orientation and crystallinity can be engineered to meet specific requirements.  Room temperature physical properties are typically similar to polyester fibres.

Zyex products can normally be woven, braided, knitted, twisted, needled with conventional equipment and technology.

Textile finishing can require specialist high temperature equipment depending on the application.
